Join us for an exciting weekend of competitive pinball at the Sacramento Gamers Expo! Hosted by Capital Pinball Parlor, the Sac Gamers Expo Pinball Showdown is a 2-day event featuring a day of single player qualifying and an intense group match play finals. Whether you're a seasoned pinball pro or a casual player, this event promises to deliver non-stop pinball action.

• Event Name: Sac Gamers Expo Pinball Showdown

• Hosted by: Capital Pinball Parlor

• Location: Sac Gamers Expo, Scottish Rite Center, 6151 H St. Sacramento, CA 95819

• Dates:

  • Qualifying: Saturday, December 14th, 2024 11:00am - 5:30pm

  • Finals: Sunday, December 15th, 2024 - 10am

• Tournament Entry Fee: $20 for 10 games (unlimited rebuys available)

• Event Entry: $25 for a 2 day weekend pass will be required for all tournament players.

Tournament Format

Day 1 – Qualifying Rounds

• Date & Time: Saturday, December 14th, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM (no new games may start after 5:30 PM)

• Entry Fee: $20 for 10 games with unlimited rebuys

• Qualifying Format: Best Game Format (single-player)

• Game Bank: 12 pinball machines (subject to change)

• Scoring System:

  • Players can play as many games as they wish to post their best scores.

  • The player with the highest score on each machine earns 100 points, second place earns 97 points, and third place earns 95 points. Scores continue to decrease by 1 point per placement beyond 3rd.

  • Each player's top 6 scores will count towards their final qualifying position.

• Finals Qualifiers: The top 16 players will advance to the finals (if over 32 players are registered).

Day 2 – Finals

• Date & Time: Sunday, December 15th, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM

• Finals Format:

  • The top 16 qualifiers from Day 1 will compete in a 3-round elimination bracket.

  • Each round will consist of 3 games played within random 4-player groups.

    • Round 1: 16 players, top 2 from each group advance.

    • Round 2: 8 players, top 2 from each group advance.

    • Round 3: 4 players, final round to determine the winner.

  • Tiebreakers: Any ties affecting finals placement or top 4 positions will be broken by a single full game on a randomly selected machine. If there are ties for finals placement, those games will be played on Sunday morning.

• IFPA Rules: Standard IFPA tournament rules apply, and all tournament decisions made by the Tournament Director are final.

Prize Structure

95% of the entry fees go to the prize pool.

• Top Day 1 Qualifier: 5%

• 1st place: 35%

• 2nd place: 25%

• 3rd place: 17%

• 4th place: 8%

• 5th-6th places: 5% each

• 7th-8th places: 3% each

For example, with a $1,500 prize pool, the payout would be:

• Top Day 1 Qualifier: $75

• 1st place: $525

• 2nd place: $375

• 3rd place: $255

• 4th place: $120

• 5th-6th places: $75 each

• 7th-8th places: $45 each

Food / Beverages

The Sac Gamers Expo is planning on having food trucks for your convenience (pending).

Alcohol is not permitted at the venue.
